Find Detox Centers by Cities of Florida

Florida, like all states, offers professional addiction treatment, intervention assistance, recovery programs, and detox. Treatment centers will differ on the detox methods they utilize, so when choosing a detox center, the addict and their family should tap into various resources to finding what detox treatment is best for them. As with anything in life, finding ultimate success in a treatment program is solely dependant on the motivation of the addict to free themselves of their addiction. Professional detox does, however; provide the individual with a powerful first step to getting clean and free of drugs. Treatment centers vary from holistic methods to more commonly used medically supervised environments where medications are utilized to calm or curb initial craving.

Florida is a starting point for drugs coming in internationally. For this reason, drugs and their addicts can be found in virtually every form in Florida. Drug smugglers from South America utilize Florida because of it’s proximity to them, and the presence of I-95 to facilitate getting drugs farther north; Florida is essentially a hub for drugs coming in from Cuba and the Gulf Coast. For this reason, Florida does have many detox centers available that offer financial assistance to the addict. Financial aid is also available through state run organizations. Florida has a popular detox program that offers essentially pain free detox for drug and alcohol abuse.

A newer, “rapid detox” program is drug treatment administered with general anesthesia. Also, alcohol detox programs exist that are medication assisted to make the inevitable withdrawal symptoms virtually pain free. Opiate addiction is common, and makes up a large (1/3) portion of all addiction types treated at clinics. Rapid detox is a great method of treatment for opiate addicts, with complete detoxification achieved in a matter of hours. Other alternative treatments include the use of saunas, acupuncture, and age old herbal remedies to detox the body and curb cravings. More and more alternative programs are popping up all over Florida as the country begins to accept more holistic forms of treatments as best. All treatment programs utilize counseling and supplemental aftercare support to ensure long term sobriety of the patient. According to recent studies, aftercare/counseling increases the chance of continuous sobriety.

Aftercare treatment after detox is simply continued counseling that helps the patient find root causes of drug abuse. Anxiety, insomnia, depression, and hormonal imbalances can be contributing root causes to addiction; aftercare attempts to address the disorders by issuing necessary treatment. These are known as “dual diagnosis” conditions, and research shows that without the necessary treatment in this type of situation, the probability of relapse increases significantly. Not all centers utilize aftercare, so it important for a potential patient find a center that does to increase their chance of success.

Drug detox programs in Florida offer alcohol detox, opiate detox, heroin detox, Oxycontin detox, and many more treatments to facilitate all types of addiction. Addiction is beatable! It can be beaten if the addict has the right mindset and receives the right form of treatment!
